Minute 61: Gelhardt fails to trouble De Gea

Gelhardt is played in by Foreshaw but the youngster’s effort is tame and is comfortably gathered by De Gea.

Minute 54: Raphinha levels!!

In a matter of seconds, Leads are level! Foreshaw robs Fernandes before laying it out wide Dan James who crosses it to the back post for Raphinha, who then taps it into the net.

Minute 53: Rodrigo scores!

Rodrigo Moreno gets Leeds back in the game! The Spaniard attempts to cross from the left but it loops right over De Gea’s head and into the net.

Minute 49: Ronaldo denied by Meslier

Ronaldo runs through on goal but his finish lacks accuracy and Meslier is able to deny him.

HALF TIME: Leeds 0-2 Manchester United

Goals from Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes have given Manchester United a two-goal lead at the break. The weather has had a big impact on the game, while Leeds were forced to make a forced substitute in the first half after Robin Koch suffered a head injury.

Minute 45+5: GOAL FOR UNITED!

Bruno Fernandes has doubled Manchester United’s lead, with Sancho floating the ball up for the Portuguese player to head under Meslier. Leeds 0-2 Manchester United.

Minute 41: Cristiano Ronaldo down in pain

Cristiano Ronaldo was caught by Klich as he went down to the ground, which caused him to lay there in pain briefly, but he is okay to carry on.


Harry Maguire got the better of Diego Llorente from Luke Shaw’s corner and headed past Meslier. Leeds 0-1 Manchester United.

Minute 33: Meslier to the rescue

Pogba is running the show for United and he just got away from a few Leeds defenders before finding Bruno Fernandes, whose curling shot was tipped wide by Meslier.

Minute 31: Junior replaces Koch

Junior Firpo has come on for the concussed Koch, so he has gone to left-back and Stuart Dallas has come into midfield.

Minute 29: Koch down again

Once again the Premier League’s concussion protocol has failed, as Koch is clearly feeling the effects of his collision with McTominay earlier.

Minute 26: Cristiano Ronaldo has tap-in saved

Paul Pogba got past Forshaw and squared the ball across the six-yard box for Cristiano Ronaldo, whose tap-in was somehow saved by Meslier. What a miss by the Manchester United forward.

Minute 24: Weather having an impact

The rainy conditions at Elland Road today are having an impact on the spectacle we are witnessing, with players slipping and struggling to chain passes together.

Minute 17: Play resumes

Robin Koch has changed his shirt and shorts and is now back out on the pitch, with the play having resumed.

Minute 12: Head injury

Robin Koch and Scott McTominay heads, with the Manchester United clashed running into the Leeds player. While McTominay seems to be okay, there is blood running from Koch’s head. Surprisingly, there is no card forthcoming for McTominay’s needless foul.

Minute 7: Bruno Fernandes down injured

Bruno Fernandes managed to get out the way of Pascal Struijk’s challenge, but upon landing he seemed to hurt himself and is now down on the ground.

Minute 5: First chance for Leeds

Leeds have started the game in a frantic manner and are getting plenty of bodies forward, with Klich’s floated pass picking out Jack Harrison, who volleyed over.

Leeds United defender Luke Ayling has admitted that he is looking forward to the prospect of playing against Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo, who had not rejoined the club when the two sides faced each other earlier in the season.

“He’s one of the greatest players to ever play the game,” Ayling told Sky Sports when asked about Ronaldo.

“Of course it’s great to be on the same pitch as someone like that. Everyone’s watched him for years, it’ll be nice to get on the same pitch as him and hopefully do well against him.”
